Conditions of Entry

1. The competition is organised by the Committee of GEF, with the technical management by P.A.I.S. (Polo Accademico Internazionale Sanremo) and A.L.C. (Art Loves Children).

2. Registration is free.

3. This is a yearly competition.

4. The painting and drawing competition is open to intellectually disabled children aged up to 12 years of age.

5. Any topic can be chosen.

6. Any technique is allowed.

7. Works must not be smaller than 40X50 cm. or bigger than 50X70 cm.

8. All works must be forwarded to: “GEF - “A Smile beyond the Dark” -Via Roma, 166 - Sanremo - Italy, by the 15th of February 2010.

9. All paintings received will remain the property of GEF and can be exhibited anywhere, anytime, in order to make known the sensitivity and creativity of intellectually disabled children.

10. Every painting entered must have the author’s details: surname, name, age, address, telephone number; parents’ surname; name of institution or association he/she is a member of/is connected with.

11. Each finalist work will be exhibited bearing the author’s name, during GEF’s finals, from April 21 to April 25, 2010, and will be in first, second and third place. All the others will get equal placement.

12. The selection panel will be chaired by Prof. Mario D’Onofrio, Chairman of the Art History Department at the Università La Sapienza, in Rome. The panel’s decisions are final.

13. First prize is a night in a hotel in Sanremo per two persons (twin room, half board) on Saturday April 24, 2010.

14. The winner will be awarded the “Trophy of GEF” . The first three winners will also receive a diploma from “Gef”. Each finalist will be inserted in the official bilingual catalogue (Italian/English) of GEF 2010.

15.The winner will receive his/her prize at the settled venue for the final performances of GEF 2010, Sunday morning - April 25, in Sanremo. Any changes to the programme made by the organizing committee will be communicated forthwith.

16. GEF reserves the right to record and/or film and/or broadcast the event in its entirety or in part, using any medium (print, photography, radio, television, audio-visual etc.) and to accompany the event with one or more promotion or publicity, without owing any payments to anyone or to any of the participants.
