FINAL PRESS RELEASE - 2014
The World Festival of Creativity in Schools , GEF, 16 years of international success - a major reference point in the world of education, has again this year attracted to the finals in Sanremo students, teachers, school workers, and experts from Italy and from all over the world.
4000 hotel nights and schools coming from 20 different counties are the confirmation of success and show how internationally important the event is.
This years edition of GEF was dedicated to the twentieth year since the end of Apatheid in South Africa and to the memory of the great and unforgettable Nelson Mandela. Who collected the Award was the Consul of South Africa in Milan, Mrs Makwatse Mokgethi.
GEF has received:
· A medal by “the President of the Republic”
· A plate by “the Lower House President”
· A bronze medal by “the Senate of the Republic”
Big success at Teatro Ariston for “sanremoJunior”, the International singing competition for soloist singers between the age of 6 and 15, now in it’s fifth year. The finalists performed with the “Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo” directed by M° Ten. Col. Leonardo Laserra Ingrosso (Director of the Band of the Italian Financial Police).
This years theme “No Racism!” was used in a Forum, organized for students and teachers, held by prestigious speakers as the President of UNICEF Dott. Giacomo Guerrera, the Vice Embassador of Uganda in Rome Dott.ssa Mumtaz Kassam and the Honorary Consul of South Africa in Genoa Dott. Enrico De Barbieri.
